To become a Company Secretary in India, the candidate has to join Company Secretaries course. The student who would like to join the course after 10+2 pass or equivalent has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretary Course, i.e. Foundation Programme, Executive Programme and Professional Programme. In ICSI Foundation Course Syllabus, there are only four subjects.

Total 400 marks with each paper for 100 marks. There would be two parts in paper consisting of two subjects with 50 questions each carrying 100 marks. Candidates will have to score a minimum of 40 marks in each paper and 50% overall (200 marks) to pass the CS-Foundation exam.
